Nvidia runs a pretty tight ship when it comes to what is proven to properly work with G-SYNC. The VA panel in the ASUS (and from what I have read, essentially every VA) has crazy screen flickering issues when G-SYNC is in use so I had to disable it entirely on my system. The ASUS has FreeSync premium, which runs like ass when you enable G-Sync. G-SYNC - Just because something says its "G-SYNC" compatible doesn't at all mean that trying to use it with G-sync will work without issues (unless you run an AMD card, then disregard, but, I have no experience with them). All of these are VA with the exception of the HP, but I didn't see much info on that one. If you look into the 3 different types (VA, IPS and TN) they are all great at certain things, but you will sacrifice others. Know your panels, what they are good for and their strengths and weaknesses. Now, having said that, here is my singular opinion on the options you laid out, and what I have experienced the last couple weeks having ultimately chosen the ASUS. While I know there are other threads on here about this same thing (I know because I, like you, had the same hang-ups). Use this to try and price match through best buy. If not or you want to get one closer to you, HP has it on sale on their website for 409. If you have a microcenter near by, it's currently 399 for purchase (in store pickup only). I sit right about arm's length away from the monitor and have no issues reading anything. Seems to work with g-sync perfectly as well when enabled. Let me know if you have any further questions and I'll try to answer later tonight.Įdit - Monitor supports on screen cross hair and on screen FPS counters both from the on screen menus. I think the colors and image look good, but can't comment well on the overall color accuracy because of such. I'd say this panel is just as nice as that one except you basically give up the curve to save almost half the msrp cost.Ī note here, I do have moderate Deuteranomaly. I originally purchased an LG 34GP83A-B from amazon a month ago and sent it back due to dead pixels (they wouldn't replace due to low stock so I just returned).

Stand supports up and down height adjustment, and some tilt. Has an HDMI, Display Port, and audio in port on the back. Power supply is built into the monitor, so just uses a standard desktop cable to plug into power (no external power brick). I'd say it's probably one of the better IPS panels I've had in terms of such. Very little black light bleed in two corners (less than my LG). I was previously using an LG 27" 1440p 144hz IPS monitor, feels about the same experience panel wise between the two. Tried a few rounds of CS:GO and it feels quick. Monitor defaults to 3440x1440 165hz right out of the box when hooked up via display port cable to my NVidia graphics card. Just setup the monitor a few minutes ago. No PBP or PIP in the menu from what I can tell.
